Carolyn Sue (Freeman) Blanton

Carolyn Sue Blanton (Freeman) went home to Jesus on December 28, 2020 at age 64. Carolyn was born in Detroit on December 17, 1956, the daughter of the late Calvin and Sarah (nee Ramey) Freeman.

Carolyn met her husband the late George Steven Blanton, Sr. at Osborne High School. They married on June 1975 for 40 years and went on to raise sons: Jason (late Mona), Cal (Theresa M.) and George, Jr in Roseville, Michigan.  She was the treasured Nana of 10, Jason (Amber), Keith, Austin, Emma, Joey, Kara, George III, Cylie, Walter and Desmond. Great-grandmother to Noah, Isabella and Theo.  Dear sister of the late Barbara McNally, the late Norma Waelchli, Diane (Paul), Harold (Suk), the late Bobby, the late Kenneth, the late Charles, and Sheila (Bill) Porritt. Sister-in-law to Cecilia Epley, Monique (Andy) Khula, and the late Scott, and the late Betty Bush. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Carolyn will be remembered as a selfless, altruistic wife, mother, daughter, sister and faithful servant of God. She always had a smile even when times were tough. She had a quiet strength and always looked to a better future. Carolyn loved to attend church, sing in the choir, read and most importantly spending time with her grandchildren.

Carolyn’s family will receive friends on Saturday, January 2, 2021 from 1pm to 4pm at Christopher Ross Funeral Home, Gratiot Road, Roseville, Michigan. A private service will be held at 5:00pm, Pastor J. Wayne Terry will officiate.
