Jerome Yarbrough was born January 17, 1967 in Memphis, Tennessee to Shelly Wilson and Earl Herndon Jr.
In 1971, Jerome's mother Shelly decided to relocate to Detroit, MI where he grew up and received his education in Detroit Public Schools.
Jerome had a love for fast cars and throughout the he owned many. He enjoyed working on cars and anyone that needed their car repaired knew that they could come to him. Rome loved putting on a show, the memory of him speeding down Wilfred and doing four corners on "Jerome and Leroy" will always be with us.
He prided himself in dressing well, smelling and looking good as well as dining out. Jerome was also a jokester, when you saw him, you were to sure to get a laugh. He had an "unusual" sense of humor and would say things that only "Rome" would say. We could say Jerome had no filters when it came to his vocabulary.
Jerome was the eldest, the protector and the rock of the family and he took his role very seriously. His family knew that if they needed anything, they could go to him and he'd be there. Jerome truly loved his mother whom he affectionately called "Shelly". No matter what, he always stayed on the grind, working hard to make sure he provided for his family. He loved his children, nieces and nephews will all his heart. Whenever you saw Jerome, you also saw his best friend/son "Moo-Moo" riding right beside him. They were inseparable. Their bond as father and son was unlike no other.
Jerome's presence, personality and heart will truly be missed by oh so many as he has touched so many lives throughout his lifetime.
Jerome's father Earl Herndon Jr. and son Jaron Yarbrough, both preceded him in death.
On Wednesday, June 15, 2016, Jerome departed this life. He leaves to cherish his memories to his mother Shelly Wilson, step-father James Wilson and the love of his life Pamela Allen. He leaves his legacy to his five children Jerrell, Derrell, Demarco, Janiyah and Caliyah; fours sisters Rondalyn, Shandalyn, Ashauntia and Naji. One brother Kevin; eight nieces Benicia, Tyeisha, Kevanna, Autumn, Shanique, Kelah, Kori and Kay'Lee; four nephews Kevin, Deshawon, Devin and Kevin Jr. and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins many other loving family members and a very special friend.
