Thomas Weakland Obituary
Thomas Howard Weakland, Sr., of Warren, MI passed away Monday, October 2, 2017 at the age of 67. Thomas was born in Detroit on December 22, 1949 the youngest of three boys (James & Kenneth) to James and Grace (Booth) Weakland. On September 14, 1973 he married his "angel" Katherine (Gregory) Weakland. The beloved father of Thomas H. Weakland, Jr. (Terri), Christina L. Verhulst (Gary), Terralyn A. Jacob (Mike), Brandy J. Walton (Larry), Jamie A. Weakland (Kristi), and Gregory W. Weakland (Melissa) he cherished his children. Loved and adored as "Pa" by 32 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
Thomas, a Marine, proudly served in Vietnam, loved to golf, hunt and watch his Lions. Thomas had such an impact on so many people whether it be from adventures in Wolverine, trips to Grayling or simply visiting in his front room; he had a way of drawing you in and making you feel like part of his family. We will forever be changed by having loved him. All of those so fortunate to have known and loved him will always remember, "It's a Weakland Thing"...you WON'T get over it.
